Philosophy
As a holistic birth practitioner, I offer safe, non-medical support and information to women and their families as they prepare for birth and their journey into parenthood. By providing knowledge and creating a nurturing environment, I can help guide each parent through their own unique experience.
I strive to educate and empower each woman while creating a connection between her and her partner to facilitate a family-centered birth. By doing this, the level of trust a woman has in her own power to birth her child will strengthen.
Expectant families have many things on their minds as birth becomes eminent. It is important to give sufficient time and energy to addressing these issues. Each parent has different needs and expectations, and may possess varying levels of information about what to expect from labor, birth, and the first few months postpartum (also known as the 4th trimester). I will help my clients navigate this terrain with non-judgmental compassion.
It is helpful to consider ideas and beliefs about labor and birth. Defining roles, being informed, and understanding choices can build confidence and alleviate anxiety before crossing the threshold into parenthood. Being fully prepared, yet willing to surrender, is the key.
Many women and their partners feel strongly about having a safe, natural birth and making informed decisions throughout the process. My role is to help facilitate this journey, encourage full participation, and to respect the choices made along the way.
